Flying Dog Brewery Night

Posted in Beer Events, Uncategorized on June 22nd, 2012 by RattleNHum

On Tuesday, June 26, we bring the Rockies to Rattle N Hum, as we host Flying Dog Brewery, which was birthed in Aspen, grew up in Denver, and now spills forth from a state-of-the-art brewery in Frederick, Maryland. Flying Dog’s motto is “Good people drink good beer.” We can hardly think of a motto more in tune with the philosophy of Rattle N Hum, which promises “no crap on tap.”

We’ll be pouring about 20 of Flying Dog’s beers, including these limited releases:

  • Lucky SOB
  • Horn Dog Barleywine
  • Disobedience Abbey Dubbel
  • Sour Cherry
  • Red Ale
See below fort the full list (click to enlarge).

As with all our events, we’ll have these beers as long as they last; some will be gone within hours of being tapped, while others will be available all week.

We host events such as this every Tuesday night, one of the many reasons that Rattle N Hum is widely considered the best beer bar in NYC.

Tourists also know us as the best family friendly restaurant near the Empire State Building. They are also flocking to our new bar, Beer Authority, the best beer bar in Times Square.

Euro 2012: The Third Matches in the Group Stage

Posted in Sports & Beer!, Sports at RNH on June 15th, 2012 by RattleNHum

Tomorrow starts the 3rd round of matches in the Group Stage of Euro 2012. Sweden and Ireland have been eliminated, but the other 14 teams all have an opportunity to move on, though some may need a little help from their “friends.”

Most of the matches have been fairly close, with 5 ties and 7 one-goal wins out of 16 matches.

Thus, nearly every team in the competition can advance with a big win in their third match, and nearly every team can be sent packing with a big loss.

The third set of matches continues to Tuesday.

All of the Group Stage matches for Euro 2012 will be played at noon or 2:45 pm NYC time.

Rattle N Hum, the best craft beer bar in NYC bar, has attracted energetic crowds for all of the Euro 2012 matches. Most bars can claim to have plenty of televisions and good pub food, but no other bar can match Rattle N Hum’s 40 taps of craft beer (except of course our sister bar, Beer Authority, the best sports bar in Times Square). We expect to have solid crowds on the weekend, but also to have a seat for everyone, unlike some smaller places where you stand five-deep at the bar and fight for a glimpse of the screen. That’s not our idea of a fun day of sports and beer. So come claim your own stool, order a pint of your favorite craft beer, and maky the best team win!

On Sundays, we offer our bottomless craft beer brunch, which includes a brunch or regular menu entree and 90 minutes of all the draft craft beer you can drink for a mere $39.95. We also offer “Kick the Keg” on Sundays, comprised of 5-10 lines of beer that we sell for a mere $5 per pint.

We host similar events every Tuesday night, which helps explain why CBS called us the best craft beer bar in NYC.

See you Tuesday!

Have you tried our bottomless craft beer brunch on Sundays?

Give Dad What He Really Wants: an Endless Craft Beer Brunch

Posted in Brunch this! on June 15th, 2012 by RattleNHum

Memo to son/daughter: your dad doesn’t really want another shirt and tie or sentimental keepsake. Yes, he puts on a good show of effusive thanks that concludes with a big hug. But even as he’s hugging you, he’s thinking, “great, another donation to Goodwill,” or “pretty expensive for a paper weight,” and, most importantly, “I wish they’d just buy me some beer.”

Just in time for Father’s Day, this Sunday, we are introducing our Bottomless Craft Beer Brunch. Bring dad to Rattle N Hum on Sunday and treat him to any item from our brunch or regular menu, plus a bottomless glass of any of our 40 craft beers on tap for 90 minutes.

The cost for all of this? Just $39.95.

For those in your party who may not want to partake of this offer, we also offer our regular brunch menu till 4 pm, and our full menu all day and night, and a special all-day “Kick the Keg” price of $5 on selected drafts. We also offer a full bar of wine and spirits. Got kids? Rattle N Hum is a family friendly restaurant – children are welcome all day, until about 6 pm. We also show all sporting events, including Euro 2012.

Can’t make it to Rattle N Hum for Father’s Day? We still have the perfect gift solution for you! Come by during the week and buy a gift certificate for brunch that he can use any time. Alternatively, pick-up a half-gallon, take-home growler full of any one of our 40 craft beers on tap, and serve it to dad on Father’s Day. As long as you keep it reasonably cold, it should stay fresh for a week or more. It will be a real treat for dad, much better than handing him a can of light beer, or a never-to-be-worn shirt and tie.

The Wide World of Growlers

Posted in Bar/Beer Talk, Uncategorized on June 14th, 2012 by RattleNHum

Sitting at the bar at Rattle N Hum and staring at our list of 40 craft taps, it’s easy to want to taste more than your thirst will allow. It’s also natural to want to share the out-of-this-world experience of our craft beers with your loved ones.

That’s where our growlers come in. These 64-ounce (4 pint) jugs are used to safely transport beer, opening up a new meaning to the word “take-out.”

Growlers have screw-on caps that preserve the freshness of beer for a week or more (when kept cold). These portable steins allow craft beer enthusiasts to bring a seasonal brew to a dinner party, BYOB restaurant, or even as a cheeky refreshment while commuting (yes, we provide cups upon request).

Growlers also make great gifts – trust us, the average craft beer lover in your life would much prefer to get a growler full of craft beer than another “Precious Moment” figurine or stack of lottery tickets. Looking for a last-minute gift for Father’s Day? A growler full of fresh craft beer is guaranteed to put a smile on dad’s face.

You even save money, as we generally price growlers at “4 pints for the price of 3.”

Rattle N Hum is about a 5-minute walk from Penn Station, home to Amtrak, NJ Transit, the LIRR, and a ten-minute walk from Grand Central. Whether you’re taking a 30-minute ride to Nassau County on the LIRR, a 45-minute jaunt to Westchester County on Metro North, a two-hour joy ride to the Jersey Shore on NJ Transit, or a 12-hour slog to North Carolina on Amtrak, we guarantee it will be more enjoyable with one (or more) of our growlers in t0w. Sure, Amtrak sells beer, but why pay more for a bottle of domestic beer than you could pay for a pint of world-class draft craft beer?

Of course, we also welcome you to enjoy your growler right at your table in RNH.

Stop in any time to fill up your growler with a favorite craft beer, or ask the bartender to recommend something new. Think of it as a new way to win friends and   influence people.

The Best Belmont Stakes Party in NYC 2012

Posted in Sports & Beer!, Sports at RNH, Uncategorized on June 5th, 2012 by RattleNHum

Saturday is going to be an epic day at Rattle N Hum.

Starting at noon, we’ll be showing two Group Stage Matches in Euro 2012. Rattle N Hum is the best bar in NYC for Euro 2012 because it’s considered the best craft beer bar in NYC, and the best craft beer bar is the best place to watch anything. World class football watching pairs nicely with world class beer drinking.

Then, at 4:30, we’ll begin the best Belmont Stakes Party in NYC.

In addition to 40 lines of craft beer, 100 more in bottles, cask ales, and a full bar of top quality wine and liquor, we will be offering our “Mint Tulip” for just $5, in a martini glass. We’ll also be holding a “best dressed woman” contest, with the prize a gift voucher of brunch for two, with two drinks per person.

Our food specials for the day:

Chicken and Waffles

Breakfast Burrito

Burger Benedict

Sheperd’s Pie with Eggs

Each of these specials will be offered with an 8 ounce glass of one of our 40 craft beers on tap or a Bloody Mary for $15.95, or $12.95 without a drink.

The race is going to be epic. Many experts believe I’ll Have Another has an outstanding chance to become just the 12th Triple Crown Winner in history. If he does, then everyone in the place who shouts “I’ll Have Another” gets a free shot of Jameson’s Irish Whiskey.

Don’t watch the race home alone – it’s a really sad spectacle when you shout “I’ll Have Another” when there is no one else to hear it. So get together with your friends and come to the best Belmont Stakes Party in NYC.

Rare Beer Night, Tuesday June 5

Posted in Uncategorized on June 4th, 2012 by RattleNHum

This week we depart from our usual Tuesday tap takeovers by a single brewery. In its place, we’ve located some rare beers that are not often seen in New York City.

Heading the line-up are cans of Alchemist Heady Topper. This is one of the few brews with a perfect 100 rating from Beer Advocate, making it “world class.”

Also on offer for the evening (and afterwards, for as long as they last):

Nogne Imperial Stout (which also earns a 100 rating from Beer Advocate).

Nogne Tiger Tripel

Nogne IPA

Nogne Citra IPA

De Koninck Tripel

Brasserie D’Achouffe La Chouffe

With events like this, it’s clear why CBS called us the best craft beer bar in NYC. See you Tuesday!
